Filby Moore Associates is a partnership offering unique specialist services in management, research, training and fundraising.
Between us, we have over fifty years in the Not-for-Profit and Statutory sectors, and bring a wealth of experience in interim and crisis management, organisational change and development, research, evaluation, and project reviews, fund-raising and training. The team has extensive expertise in, and an almost unequalled knowledge of, the provision of advice and advocacy services.
We specialise in managing projects in crisis or undergoing changes, and have a first-class track record of success in this field. We have a unique approach to problem solving and the formation and implementation of creative and innovative solutions. Recent commissions have seen us manage a large advice project with significant operational and funding challenges, to a re-focused and re-energised service with a significant injection of funding to facilitate the change process. We have also provided emergency management for a unique 24/7 residential project working with recovering drug- and alcohol-dependent women and their children. We kept that project open and viable against the odds. We also managed extensive domestic abuse services that were in crisis; at the end of our work the project was hitting all its contractual targets, the staff had regained a sense of purpose and enthusiasm, external relations had been improved and vital new links created.
We have worked with former Plymouth MP Linda Gilroy to carry out a unique enquiry into the housing situation in the city, to create a framework for future developments. FMA has recently completed extensive qualitative research for Gloucestershire PCT into the health needs of homeless people. We have worked with Teign Housing and Teignbridge District Council to develop innovative approaches to tackling under occupation in social housing, which involved extensive contact with the tenants in their homes.

We have researched and evaluated services for entrenched street sleepers and developed innovative solutions for a Registered Social Landlord and for Shelter, and have experience of delivering and evaluating services funded by Supporting People.
We have undertaken team reviews and building sessions for local authorities and not-for-profit agencies, as well as assisting with disciplinary and grievance hearings. We have experience of working with Trustees, managers and staff to safely identify and start planning to address problems within organisations.
